KERIANN HAS A PLAN · PRIORITY 1

Infrastructure & Road Paving

Residents deserve streets that are properly maintained, clearer priorities and a serious plan for addressing infrastructure problems.

This last couple of weeks was another reminder of how important basic infrastructure is in District 1.

When streets flood and residents have difficulty getting in and out of their neighborhoods, infrastructure stops being an abstract City Hall issue. It affects daily life. Those of you on Riverside Drive know precisely what I mean.

That is why infrastructure and road paving are an important part of my plan for District 1.

Infrastructure & Road Paving

My approach is straightforward

  • Treat road paving, drainage and basic infrastructure as core city responsibilities.
  • Prioritize projects based on actual conditions and community need.
  • Work constructively with city staff so projects can move forward.
  • Give residents clearer information about what is planned, where projects stand and what comes next.
  • Keep attention on District 1, including the beach area, where residents continue to raise concerns about roads, flooding and infrastructure.

What I can promise

I am not going to promise that one commissioner can pave a particular road by a particular date. Capital projects involve budgets, engineering, permitting and votes from the full commission.

Take a drive through the beach area of District 1 and look at the condition of the roads and infrastructure for yourself. We should be asking a simple question: Are we seeing the progress residents expect?

I believe residents deserve clear answers, clear priorities and a serious plan for addressing these problems.
